Top things to do on the Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast is a staple of the East Coast of Australia. Popular with both families and backpackers this guide explains what you must absolutely see and do in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Visit Noosa

Noosa is a gorgeous beach side town. With everglades (there are only 2 in the entire world) and a stunning National Park this is one you don’t want to miss. See the full guide to Noosa for more information and recommendations.

Australia Zoo

It feels weird calling this place a Zoo when the word has so many negative connotations and this conservation site is a haven for endangered animals and includes a hospital where no animal in turned away (including 200 koalas after the 2019 bush fires in South Australia). You can visit from Brisbane in around 1 hour. I would recommend driving and buying a ticket yourself if you can but there are tours on Get Your Guide you can book. Head to the kangaroos first, buying food at Guest Services and see as much as you can before the Croc show! Crikey Cafe has decent food and drink options too to keep you going of a big walking day.

Caloundra

Beautiful beaches and coves without being too crowded either. The backdrop of Bulcock Beach has views of Glass House Mountains too. Golden Beach you can hire paddle boards and kayaks even crossing over to Bribie Island.

Glass House Mountains

When visiting the above places, include a scenic drive through the Glass House Mountains. If you’re extra keen you can hike around too.
