This guide will help you plan a great night out from a catch up with a friend, a birthday/special occasion or date night.
Pick a spot for pre-drinks
A pre-dinner cocktail is a great way to start the night and visit another place in the city. Ideally a rooftop bar to catch some great city views or the sunset before dinner. Also, it’s usually easier to walk in somewhere before bars get busier post dinner time. This also means you get to explore another venue and “make more of a night of it”.
Reserve a later dinner reservation where the restaurant turns into a party
Rather than queuing outside a nightclub or bar after dinner to have a dance, find a restaurant where they push the tables to the side after dinner service. If you do this, make sure you are in the last sitting otherwise you will need to give your table up for the next reservation.
Plan your midnight snack
If you’ve been dancing for a few hours post dinner you may have burned some extra calories or need something to soak up those cocktails while you wait for your Uber to arrive. While you might plan a McDonald’s run on the way home, if you’re in a 24 hour city like London or Melbourne then there will be delicious late night eateries nearby from fried chicken, kebabs or sandwiches. Even if you don’t eat it all you’ll have something in the fridge to snack on the next day if you’re feeling a tad worse for wear..
Bonus top tip
Whenever you see a cool restaurant or bar online or someone recommends it to you, save it on your Google Maps. This means when you’re planning a night out in a certain neighbourhood you have a list of accessible recommendations at your fingertips.
