Guide to Bali waterfalls

There are many stunning waterfalls in Bali and I definitely recommend you visit at least a couple during your time there. A lot of organised day trips include a waterfall so you can cover a few throughout your trip or you can book specific waterfall day trips. Plus you can book a driver to take you exactly where you want to go if you have a specific one in mind.

Best waterfalls to see

Tegenugan : one of the most popular I recommend you get there early rather than in the afternoon. Also this is a grey water area meaning local shower/bath water ends up in it so I would only walk in to your knees.

Tibumana-  my favourite, plenty of room to swim and a really breathtaking waterfall

Tukad Cepung- this waterfall is so beautiful and fun to get to as you climb through the cave. I went in the afternoon and there was a queue to take photos with the waterfall rather than everyone enjoying the water and getting a picture where they can. Probably better to go first thing in the morning.

Kanto Lampo- this one is great for the Instagram. You can ask a guy in a red top to take your photo (you’ll need to tip him) but in all honesty I’d have preferred just to hop down there take a picture, enjoy the view and then leave as it gets quite busy.

Things to note

Check with your tour guide or research if the water is clean or grey water area. Don’t want to be completely submerged in water that could give you a rash or make you sick

Most waterfalls require a lot of steps to get down to them (which you then have to climb back up)
