While Florida is a popular holiday destination for the theme Parks (DisneyWorld, Universal Studios to name a few) its beaches can’t be missed. After days of walking around theme parks relax on one of the many beautiful beaches Florida has to offer.
Daytona Beach
Best for: groups, surfing
The Atlantic coast means big waves perfect for surfing. Plenty of body board rentals around too. I wouldn’t recommend for families simply because it has more of a party vibe and as cars drive onto the beach kids need to be extra careful. Having said that there’s plenty of families around and young children learning to bodyboard on the waves. It’s a beautiful stretch of beach with lifeguards not to be missed. There’s also a Buc EEs fuel station nearby to get your brisket on the board burger.
Coco Beach
Best for: families
Beautiful soft sand, nice waves but not too many surfers this is a lovely beach to visit over the weekend.
Clearwater Beach
Best for: groups, families
With lots of shops and restaurants in the area this is my favourite beach in Florida. It doesn’t have the waves for surfing which is better if you want to swim as you don’t have to look out for surf boards coming your way. Drinking alcohol on the beach is prohibited so less of a Spring Break atmosphere than Daytona can occasionally have.
